In the wood

 Found this tile tray on the ground among the trees of the Floriade forest. It took some searching for it. One for Sami's Colourful World here.

The last busstop

 This discarded bus stop now serves as a home for bee colonies of a friend of mine. 

Tucked away in a secluded spot in the middle of the forest, it really looks quite idyllic. It is the site of the beekeepers association south flevoland.

Into the woods

Thanks to the warm weather and abundant rains, the greenery is literally popping at the seams in the Almere woods.  Unfortunately, it also means a large increase in the giant hogweed that just won't go away.

We walked quietly along this path this week

when I saw something moving along the edge

We had never seen this colorful exote before. Soon searched at home. Turned out to be a Lady Amherst pheasant. Must have escaped somewhere because they certainly don't live here in the wild.

Bieb on the bike.

It's been a while since we got on our bikes. This morning we took the plunge again, because according to the weather forecast it might get hot this afternoon. It's striking that most people of our age are passing by on their e-bikes as Bieb mentioned on her post today. Seems better to do some work yourself. One for Our World Tuesday here.

Solid boys

On the animal meadow in the forest near Almere you will find a couple of sturdy animals (two rams and one billygoat). One for Saturday  Critters here.

Shortcut through the woods.

On the route to the photographica fair at 8.30 AM I stopped for a second to make this shot. One for Our World Tuesday here.

Funwood

Startpoint of the route through the trees for kids(and grown ups with kid feelings) in our own Almere Woods.

Via very wobbly bridges and cables you can do a very long route .

and the highest point is 18m above the ground. Not exactly my cup of tea but everything under supervision of a guide as seen yesterday with stunning weather.

hobby horses

Last Sunday we had a kind of horse show in the Almere woods and there was also a jump obstacle track for the little ones.

Looks like their age determined how to take it.

Unexpected.

Never thought I'd see a woven wooden fence in an urban environment. Let alone also painted black. Wonder if it is a hobby from the owner. Really nice one for Good Fences here.

Signs everywhere.

You are walking in the Almere woods. Don't think there are no signs. Where one bike path is crossing an other they must have thought come lets place some signs because sometimes there can be a farmers vehicle on the crossing one. One for sign, signs here.

Testing

On invitation by the council invalids in scoot mobiles are testing a new nature path in the almere woods also redesigned for them.
