Building a new shed roof

 I didn't have to go far for this one. My neighbors still had the original polyester roof on their shed and were replacing it with the help of some friends. It took a little longer than they had expected, so they have to get back to work on it.( Header a photo from the Waag December 2010 )

So when is it coming?

How can we make the street more interesting?

 

Last week, the city decided it was time once again to bring in some 3D artists to liven up the streets a bit. I didn't have time to check it out thoroughly, but I snapped a quick photo of what I came across on my way to my appointment. This post is for Sami's Colourful World here. (Header just reality)

Sunset at our castle ruin

 Now that construction began 25 years ago, it finally looks like the castle will be completed, with 800 to 1,000 homes surrounding it. We’ll just have to wait and see. So far, all previous attempts have fallen through due to a lack of funds, but the city is very optimistic. Here’s one for Skywatch Friday.

Things are really hopping on the lake behind the dike near our house.

The Moon ?

 Well, it was really strange to see the moon there the day before yesterday.  But upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a reflection of the hallway light in the double-paned glass of the garden window. Here’s one for Skywatch Friday.

Aerial advertising

Apparently, even the aerial advertisements are in English, even though we’re in the Netherlands. Seems to have something to do with cryptocurrency. I’d call this double air pollution. One for Skywatch Friday here.

You don't have to walk far to see that this neighbor keeps chickens in his yard. One of them, named Duco, seems to always make a run for it whenever the gate opens. Here's one for Signs2.

Today in Almere

Preparations for King's Day tomorrow are in full swing. Some children have already gotten their hands on some goodies or are bringing them in for sale.

And to think that someone has to stay up all night to watch over the stuff at a temperature of 5°C.
