Old harbor area Amsterdam North
Linger for a while at the harbor remains of which I showed an example yesterday.
Oh well, you can make something out of half a crane.

What stands out
In the former port area of Amsterdam which is now very slowly being transformed into a new city district, there are still plenty of old port remains to be found. One for Sami's Colourful World here .

Passant Harbor
There are always water tourists who want to stay overnight this summer in Almere. Well you can do that in our transient marina. (Header the Prince Hendrik Quay in Amsterdam seen from the top floor of the public library.)

New urban district
It's not often that a new canal is built in Amsterdam, but in the old timber harbor area all sorts of islands are now being created for construction separated by canals. The first houses are already inhabited and the architecture is inspired by the architecture of Amsterdam in the 1920's. (The header is from the balcony of my previous job where I went for a coffee and a chat with my former colleagues to recover from this walk through a beautiful new part of town).

Its last puffs
From behind the window of a restaurant in Amsterdam harbor the day before yesterday. That smoking pipe left blows its last clouds because from 31 December 2019 it is forbidden to run on coal for that power grid central. One for Skywatch Friday here.

Its a colorful world
What you can't do with the counterweight of a crane.
A counterweight still in use now above 3 hotel rooms in this old harbor crane.

Toys for boys
A group of businessmen from Den Helder bought an old Russian submarine for a joke and now it's been in the harbour in the north of Amsterdam for years. The municipality of Amsterdam is trying to get rid of it, but that's not so easy.
