Bare feet parade

Coming from the supermarket going home we were surprised by a parade. Something you see rarely or not at all in the Netherlands.

The Sikhs in the Netherlands were celebrating Vaisakhi, the birth of modern Sikhism which falls at the same time as the harvest festival in the Punjab.

Graduation show

Merel Bernhardt demonstrates her nine square meter design were in each wall a folded room with a basic function is hiding. The basic functions are, a living room, a bedroom, a bathroom and a kitchen. Very ingenious indeed.

Fair in Spakenburg.

These two ladies in their local costumes buy an eel sandwich at the fair in their fishing village Spakenburg-Bunschoten .

On such days even grand children and their grannies are costumed in the local clothing. On normal days only the old are in the habit of wearing those. 

This lady from neighboring Staphorst shows that every town have his own dress but it is a habit quick disappearing now.
