Living in Amsterdam

Children are picked up from school by their parents. .Most by bike or cargo bike because driving a car is almost impossible here.

School Class

On their way to their gym, they saw me standing on the other side of the road with a photo camera. Photo,photo was shouted and they really slaved away.  I didn't let them tell me twice.

Fortunately, there are still artists in the making.

St.Maarten

 

This year we had children asking for candy on 11-11 on the door again (last year not because of the lockdown). First they had to sing a song about St Maarten from which the orginal text is dissappeared over time so everyone interprets that in their own way. Remarkable one of the girls about 7 (not on this photo) asked if we had also gluten free candy. Yes times are changing indeed.

The number of attendants far exceeded the number of children.

Kings day

It was terrible weather so the joy from walking around was quick lost

Still a big joy for children when they find something unexpected for a few cents.

For them it was indeed a very successful day.

Funwood

Startpoint of the route through the trees for kids(and grown ups with kid feelings) in our own Almere Woods.

Via very wobbly bridges and cables you can do a very long route .

and the highest point is 18m above the ground. Not exactly my cup of tea but everything under supervision of a guide as seen yesterday with stunning weather.
