Street photography composition

 Since I’m spending a lot of time at home these days, I’ve been drawing inspiration from the countless street photos I’ve taken over the years, and I have to say that many of them are a surprise to me all over again. Shot on the Dam square 12 years ago.

You can sit comfortably on the terrace of Café De Jaren, built on stilts on the corner of Amstel and Kloveniersburgwal. (Header: if there's one thing that characterizes Amsterdam, it's the tourists who have lost their way.)

 Coming off the train and looking toward the Damrak. Well, it takes some getting used to.

Street photography troubles

 Sometimes your picture fails completely because someone interferes or offends you. Well I posted it anyway as a random composition of chance. It happened yesterday and it was so crowded on the street that it looked like the inside of a big warehouse. All those tourist for Easter I guess.

She had just turned 26 and decided to celebrate with her boyfriend in Amsterdam coming from Milan. Instead of tackling their iphone I took the now sent photo with my own camera. I think they liked it very much. One for James Weekend Street/Reflections here.

Ready to start occupying the garden.

 On our way to Prague, we passed an outlet of garden gnomes lined up in rows waiting for us tourists. This was in 2001 and only recently did this reappear on my screen. It seems that the Czech Republic is the country that is the court supplier for these gnomes in the world.

There are always water tourists who want to stay overnight this summer in Almere. Well you can do that in our transient marina.  (Header the Prince Hendrik Quay in Amsterdam seen from the top floor of the public library.)

The tourist season is upon us again.

 

Seems that in this business quite a bit of money is made and the liquor served on some of the boats is really something special. Not my idea for a roundtrip on the water.
