 Made from concrete but as only drawback no longer movable because of its weight but does nicely show the possibilities of this kind of technology. At least won't blow away anytime soon.

Studio Reuse was an artist collective in Rotterdam where they sold their designs in a joint store. Unfortunately that store was closed in 2016.

Dancing chair

A to heavy load? Perhaps people have to look at the design constructions of these chairs again. One for sign, signs here. 

Colorful material.

On the way back from yesterdays tunnel we saw an exposition about designs of the architect Berlage and followers of his ideas named " Berlage the Godfather of Dutch Design". Here the layers cloud chair by Richard Hutten made for the Danish textile producer Kvadrat.

The chair refer to the pigments found in the Painted desert Arizona.

Was the famous quote of Gerrit Rietveld architect and designer of the two chairs you are seeing here.

His zig zag chair is famous of course but not so well know with armrests and it is made with a more lazy sitting angle.

This one from 1942 is made of aircraft aluminium and the punched holes were needed in order to give the sheet material the proper stiffness. All from the same exhibition as yesterday.

Rubbish

On one day in the week the people living along the canals can put their coarse dirt at the side of the pavement.

Officially it is forbidden but for students still a nice way to find some furniture for their student rooms. You would be amazed what there is to find for the real bargain hunter. 

Urbex restaurant

This rocking bench stood in the restaurant accompanying the photo exhibition of yesterday. It rocked a little to easy for my taste.

Here a total view of it . It was necessary to keep your coat on. No heating inside.

Braderie de Lille

Went yesterday with Bieb and daughter to the Braderie de Lille in France. Europe's greatest brocante market on the weekend with the first sunday in September. Yes it was very crowded as you can see here. The smoke came from all the barbecues preparing food the whole day long. If you are by car the nearest parking place is 15 km away because every free space is reserved months before. We took the bus, a three hour ride from Almere to Lille especially for this occasion starting at 6.45 AM en going back 7.30 PM.

The most merchandise is french of course.

I especially liked the Jielde lamps but the asking price I didn't found realistic.

It was no point to get a complete furnishing with accompanying paintings for a reasonable price. The real point is how to get it home. Tomorrow some more impressions.

Some Norwegian interiors

This lady was so kindly to point out the finer details of the interiors of some wooden houses collected in the Maihaugen open air museum dressed in her national costume..

Not much windows so it is often a bit dark inside. Now think when it is winter and dark outside.

The details of the woodwork are really amazing if you remember there where no electrical tools and everything was pure handcraft. 

Here the ceiling is very special and look at that chair. It was an other society in those days. Of course we are better of today but for these skills I doubt it.

Wobbling chairs

That glass reflects knows everybody but that the chairs outside also look like a wobbled reflection is new for me. ( The courtyard of the Coda building in Apeldoorn). One for weekend reflections here.
