Here one of the student rooms in the Bauhaus Dessau. This one was inhabited by Marianne Brandt. A student of the metal department and quickly became a master herself.
One of the few portraits of her. Photographer unknown.
This in contrary to her work which I dedicate to weekend reflections here.
Also something about the opening of the windows in the curtain facades of the Bauhaus designs.
For extra force a kind of tackle was invented to open a complete row of windows.
For the more individual ones a lever construction but always a joy to see.
No screens--must not be any flying insects in Berlin. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou have seen quite a bit of this area!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove the repeating lines of the hallway. The windows as well. You should link this up to this weeks Friday My Town Shoot out. It fits our theme "Construction and Architecture" perfectly! You can find the link in my latest blog post.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'm really loving the designs of that metal work. More wonderful shots from your trip, and that second one from the bottom (the tackle) is a beautiful photo. Well seen and well executed.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis has been a fascinating series. Love your reflections.
