The Bakers House from the holiday archive

This is part of the bakers house on the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. Coming from 1590 it has burned down 3 or 4 times and this version is from 1854. The frescoes are only from 1988 when a competition to refurbish the facade between 3 painters was won by Carlos Franco. In the meantime there is no bread for sale anymore but it is now a branch of the "Madrid Tourism Center". One for Sami's Colourful World here.

  1. The facade looks quite pretty with all these frescoes. The artist has done a good job. Thanks for participating in Monday Murals SC.
