This statue of Jacob van Lennep is placed where in 1853, on his initiative, the first drinking water pipe entered the city (from the water supply dunes) at the haarlemmer square. One for Weekend Reflections here.
I also like your new header photo. Made me think of the Beatles song, Yellow Submarine. The statue in your picture looks much more modern than the middle of the 19th Century. It does have a great reflection.
Cool!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenLove your candid street captures!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOne person has seemed to have found happiness there.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI'll drink to that. :) I like the new header, is that submarine in the canal, it looks old?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYes Bill a yellow submarine and the owner is looking for a way to make a houseboat of it.
VerwijderenI like it!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenInteresting reflection off the statue. I like the expression on the woman's face.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenShe looks happy.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenShe looks happy reading history!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHeipsan for a long time. I like this photo, and your previous posts are really lovely, too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBe care.
