This 240 square meter mural is made by the Brazilian artist Eduardo Kobra on the site of the NDSM shipyard in Amsterdam North. Our national commemoration day for the fallen in the 2nd World War is on the 4th of May so this is a good memorial for the fallen in the 2nd World War. One for Sami's Colorful World here.
It's a fabulous mural SC, I had seen it on the internet before. Thanks for contributing to Monday Murals.
BeantwoordenVerwijderen...a wonderful iconic image. Something that we should never forget, but some now deny.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow, wat prachtig!!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenClassic Kobra! I must find this one next time I'm in Amsterdam
BeantwoordenVerwijderenRepresenting a time when the world fell into darkness and many Dutch people lost their lives. A well deserved memorial.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt´s a wonderful tribute.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat's a beautiful interpretation of a face that I hope we never forget! I'm afraid the message of Anne Frank is in fact being lost in a way, not only because Jews are being shot while at worship but also because Christians, Moslems, and others are also being shot while at worship around the world, just because they want what that banner says: "Let me be myself."

That is a great mural, and thanks for introducing me to the work of Eduardo Kobra. We have Memorial Day on the last Monday in May to commemorate all those who died in military service. My Dad fought in WWII to end Nazism. We won that war, but are still fighting those same wrong ideas.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA splendid mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEr zou daar een street art museum komen, maar ik hoor er eigenlijk niets meer van?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt is wonderful! Lest we forget.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love this, what a nice tribute to Anne.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSo much to remember. Every year, I remember Sophie Scholl's birthday on May 9.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSpectacular mural.
