One of the many murals in Northern Ireland. The hero of the Protestants the dutch prince William III who was stadholder over the 7 dutch provinces in 1672 and became in the end king over England, Scotland and Ireland with his wife Mary II. One for Monday murals here.
A very difficult political subject in that part of the world...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI agree with Chrissy on this subject. I'm surprised there's no tags on it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThanks S.C. - you made my day!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMurals are indeed nicer than graffiti !
We generally have fond thoughts of William & Mary here in Virginia. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEuropean history is quite strange! A strong and loud statement the mural makes.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery nicely done piece of artwork in spite of one's beliefs one way or the other.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHe certainly looks fancy!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenVery commanding mural. Given local politics, I'm surprised it hasn't been tagged or attacked in other ways. William and Mary is associated here with a fine college in Virginia. Thanks, sc, for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
