Thousands of Barnacle geese choose the sky bothered by foxes in the Oostvaardersplassen . They are wintering here from their nesting island Nova Zembla .
The above picture is a crop from this one. It was a mighty view. Every 10 minutes somewhere a flock was taking the air and landed again. Its a matter of days now before they go back to their breeding grounds. One for skywatch friday here.
Beautiful sight!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSeeing all those cows and birds suddenly made me think of all that "fertilizer" they must be producing. Yikes!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt always amazes me how they never fly into each other.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the contrast between the noisy flying birds and the very calm cows..
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's always a spectacular and unforgettable sight.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a joyous sight! I often envy a bird's freedom!
Inizio a seguirti...

BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhen I see birds coming home (or flying away for winter) - in formations, I am crying like a baby. I do not know why. It is mighty and it is touching for me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenS.C. these young people were the fresh married couple, taking some photos with hired photographer. I could not stop myself from taking myown photo, especially because chinese people love to be taken photos of.
