40 Iguanas and agames are crawling around the "kleinegartman plantsoen" in amsterdam and the fence was not capable to keep them in the middle. In reality it is 'n artwork from Hans van Houwingen who made this 40 bronze animals in 1994. A lot of them are on the other end or sometimes in a tree so everywhere you are confronted with them.
I dedicate this one to friday fences here.
No wonder they went extinct.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYou had me fooled. You should have this for April fools' day.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenha. ha!! neat. ( :
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI had one briefly as a "pet" and it was not a nice animal - long story. Anyway, I was curious how they could be out and about in the cold weather, but bronze don't care about the cold...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI thought they were real!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFunny article with these Iguanas. Reminds me of Aruba but there they were real.

Greetings,

I thought they were real...was thinking our granddaughter would love this.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGreat place to see them! I knew those had to be bronzes, though because we have the same thing here at the AZ Sonoran Desert Museum. I think the art adds so much to the environment. But it sure looks at first glance like they are escaping! What a fun post!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenReally cool! They are very realistic and life like.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenfascinating. I think they would be a little scary after dark, if you didn't know about the art.
