In the same neighbourhood of yesterday you find this postoffice as part of a whole residential building block called "het schip"(the ship) also from M.de Klerk.Today it is a museum with a link here.
A part of the interior. This was the public space . You can also visit an apartment and a garden exhibition with a lot of street furniture also designed by the amsterdam school architects of their time. Mostly made of cast iron and still good for use in the coming years. I found it a very inspiring visit.
Intereting geometries In the interior !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMooi shot!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat beautiful architecture. Excellent capture.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDarryl and Ruth :)
oh, I like when the furniture is designed by the architect, too. This looks art noveau-ish to me.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like how the wall tiles are such a big size!
The cast-ironwork is excellent. My eyes were particularly drawn towards that steel hand at the top of the door. The blue grey tiling is wonderful.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt's always a shame that these lovely interiors all slightly spoilt by the paperwork, books and gifts on the counter.
Excellent interior though. 10/10 for those experimental designers from years ago.
