After the Rotterdam view of yesterday now an Amsterdam view. You are not looking at a square but at the Torensluis bridge with its 42 m one of the broadest bridges from town and originally from 1648. This is because earlier on a tower was standing on it, demolished in 1829 because the city could not longer pay for the maintenance. Also one for Skywatch Friday here.

  1. Blue sky and cobblestone... excellent match up.

  2. Zo te zien kan de brug niet open..de boten gaan er onderdoor?

    1. Inderdaad past de plaatselijke rondvaartboot er nog onderdoor.

  3. I love this - it's so Dutch with the cobblestones, bridge, wonderful buildings, and that gorgeous sky.

  4. Oh, Rotterdam, nearly de-tour from Amsterdam to Rotterdam last I went there but time did not permit.
