In the Almere Woods.

A sign you don't expect in the middle of the Almere Woods.

Even as the path to go there is as beautiful as this one.

In the middle of the woods you find the quarantaine cages for the monkeys of Foundation Aap. Old monkeys used for laboratorium tests or abandoned by there owners and now being cared for a new life with their compagnons for a careless old day in relatieve freedom on the grounds in Almere or in Spain were the climate is better.

After healing and re-socializing he or she gets to a group of chimpanzees to enter a careless old age. One for sign, signs today here.

  4. Interesting place. Monkeys and apes are such intelligent animals. I'm sure they don't like being caged...

  5. That is a frightening sign. Hope these animals have a better time now that they have been released from terrible biological experimentation. Chimps are social animals who do better in a community than in isolation.
