Changing city

What was once the old harbor of Amsterdam is now a very appreciated living area also with a lot of other ships than in older days.
Old harbor workers wouldn't recognize it.
With all those new buildings.
Yes cities change.

  1. We are in world of change. Some of it quite rapid. Recovering land from water is an amazing feat.

  2. The Dutch are marvelous when you conquer the land from the sea.
(I remember from my childhood the story of a little boy had had a finger in the hole of the dam).

  3. What is that to the left in the first photo? Looks like...well I don't know what it looks like.

    1. It is a kind of floating garden in use as a water cleaner cq filter by natural means. And by the people who knows it works.

  4. Your first shot with the boats moored is terrific. Thanks for explaining the item on the left. The modern building looks like a few pieces got left out.

  5. Your photos show remarkable change!

  6. How interesting, the tall building on the third photo is where my daughter lives!
