From the same area as my header, the western islands in amsterdam. From around 1600 the harbor area of amsterdam. Years and years neglected but now a very sought after and expensive living area.
I don't think we've been that far west during our two visits to Amsterdam. Gentrification, as we call it here, seems to happen in all European and American cities.
