Taphophile-tuesday

Here you see the cemetery of San Martin de Castañar. A little village in the inner parts of Spain between Salamanca and the Portuguese border. On this moment it has 270 inhabitants. As very little place you stumble over its cemetery with is completely covered with wild flowers with gives it a very appealing atmosphere. The only thing you hear is the buzz of all the bees and the sweet smell of the plants. That's a place to rest forever. For more taphophile tragics look here.

  3. Really, who needs a lot of space when you are gone. And this cemetery, with all the wildflowers, looks very pleasant.

  6. A beautiful simplicity. They are such small plots, is this perhaps a children's area?

  7. Very nice S.C I love the simple framing but its powerful at the same time. I love the overgrown look, its popular in the UK as well oh sorry for the Robot thing I need to find a way to stop that.

  11. I'd like to see more cemeteries planted with wildflowers. It's certainly a lovely spot.

  12. I agree with your other commenters, SC. This is a lovely little cemetery. Only 270 inhabitants. And surely many of them were small children. The beds of each grave are quite short, and the markers very narrow.

Neverthe less, this is a very beautiful graveyard, and your description suits it to a tee.
