As a political refugee under constant surveillance by the Chinese government the artist feels related to the growing flow of refugees trying to reach Europe. Since his first visit to the Greek island of Lesbos in December 2015, Ai Weiwei visited refugee camps in Syria, Turkey, Italy, France and other major refuges. (Text from the exhibition #SafePassage at Foam).
Must say as showing so many pictures you are indeed a bit despondent to the problem of refugees and Ai Weiwei is indeed very clear and capable to lay his finger on the sore spots.
Wow - that is fabulous!
