I would get the lawnmower out and clean up the playing field. Then I would encourage the neighbourhood kids to start having some fun....

I am with Grace, just a bit of mowing of the soccer pitch, add some netting to the goals, and let the play begin. There must be kids who are looking for a field where they can play. Good discovery, S.C.

I'd leave the wildflowers but restore the field.
Best of both worlds if you mow the lawn and leave the flowers to grow round the edges.
