A sky full of noise.

While the elms along the canals are already full of elm seeds you'll also find even stranger boarders. Here one of the approximately 10 000 parakeets which currently live in Amsterdam and they continue to expand. One for Skywatch Friday here.

  9. That is an exotic tropical bird to have flying about in your trees. Unfortunately due to Dutch Elm disease we no longer have elm trees.

  10. I'm thinking those parakeets are a nuisance (like Quaker parrots in my native New York City) but they are so wonderful to look at.

  11. Parakeets seem to be taking over the world, but surprised they are in Amsterdam. We have large numbers (non-native) here in S CA too.
