The coat of arms of Gouda has lost a Star.
The accompanying text says in Hebrew and Dutch:
In 1827 at this place was the synagogue of the Dutch-Israelite Jewish community built.
Between 1940 and 1945, more than 500 men, women and children were taken away by the Nazis to extermination camps.
Their memory wil be blessed.
