Asking permission to photograph people on the street.

Not asked.

Not asked
Asked. I must say that not asking gives sometimes a bit more spontaneous photo's.

  1. The first photo of not asked is so candid. I usually ask if I want to do a facial close up. And I also explain they might end up my blog for all to see. Most people say yes.

  3. They need another dog on the scooter, or how about a couple of cats?

  4. I rarely ask people on the street for permission to photograph them, but then I don't often take pictures of people. I like the more "natural" candid shots where my subjects are unaware of what I'm doing. But I also try not to invade people's privacy. It is a fine line.

  5. Fun to compare. Depends a lot on the situation if I ask someone's permission or not. In very public places I don't feel much need.

  7. People on the scooter seems to be happy in both images.
By the way, do you have always time to ask?

  8. I guess it depends upon the situation. There are many times when asking would spoil the shot and miss the moment. Nice post.

  9. You may know the photographer's saying that it is easier to ask forgiveness than permission.

I once got a shot similar to the bottom one while walking the streets of Versailles with Ciel de Quimper.

Because of some annoying messages I have to check the posts sent to my blog. No anonymous remarks, sorry for that.
