Always, always look out when your on a bike in amsterdam. I myself was once hit by a car and fell numerous times because one of my wheels was caught in the tram rails. Nowadays I don bike in amsterdam anymore.
It's a sad sight to someone injured. After driving driving public transit for over 40 years I have seen many incidents. Some the motorist fault some the bikers.
You could be right about depositing wares (16th century) in the attic instead of the cellars - was just going with the American mind of providing a reason why it's so common to have boats there - the US doesn't have anything like this - harbors are not where you live. Thanks for your comment!

BeantwoordenVerwijderenAlways sad when a cyclist hits the ground. Looks like a car might have been involved. Hope the cyclist was not badly injured.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHope she's OK. I've had several close-calls with automobiles being stupid, but so far I've been lucky. There but for the grace of god...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow--soo sad!!!Hope all is all right!!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenJa, hopelijk is het goed afgelopen daar.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI've been caught in tracks like that too and there is nothing you can do but go down!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenGood grief! A cyclist myself, I would avoid track like that like the plague.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat's certainly true in Amsterdam.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI too feel each bike accident I see as a 2 wheeler for many years. I too have gone to 2 feet or 4 wheels
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI thought you had special lanes for the cyclists.....
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBut perhaps that is more out in the country side?
