Disappeared streetscape.

Around 1969 you had also already reflections in the water. For me it was a tough cookie to determine this one but the railway in the background gave it away. The street on the other side of the "Weespertrekvaart" called the "Amstelhoekstraat" even as the canal and the housing along it are now long gone making place for the head quarters of Philips and some other high rise buildings. One for weekend reflections here and for now the last one of my 6x6 negatives from that period of amsterdam.

  4. It would be fun to find that same spot to stand in and take a picture of today. I once had an old magazine about ghost towns in the desert and went out and tried to do just that with some luck.

  5. I've loved seeing your old photos - the beginning of 1970 is when I moved to Holland, although I was very young at the time.
