Still in Gouda. An cast iron turn bridge from 1867 made by ironworks "The Prince of Orange "in the Hague seen from the "lage Gouwe". Funny thing, it doesn't connect a main street on both sides but of course is an obstacle for shipping traffic .
In the 19th Century the iron bridges were often built like wooden bridges, but with iron pieces. The shipping along the canal will just have to be long and low.
