Last thursday I went with my neighbor to the marine museum in Den Helder.
If you are a bit claustrophobic then the Dolphin, a submarine in use until 1990, is nothing for you.
For everything you have to stoop.
But it is a great experience, especially when you use the periscope and look out over the wadden sea. I tried to photograph it but that was no succes at all.
Awesome! Everything looks brand new.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a great opportunity, s.c.!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt would have been quite an experience! Maybe not my favourite place to visit but interesting.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYep, claustrophobic would be me. I could walk through the exhibit, but the thought of being in one of those things under water for an extended time terrifies me - I could see myself going mad.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWow!!this I have notseen!only in movies!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat a good time!
In Canaria i was in a yellow submarine..only looking at fish!
Greetings Anita
I've been on a submarine a couple of times and it gave me an appreciation of the bravery of those who serve in them. Nice shots!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenMy goodness...I almost ended up in one of those. What was I thinking?
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTerrific pictures of the undersea environment. I'm claustrophobic. We visited a world War II submarine at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry and it was very difficult.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenEvery man's favorite museum... :)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenYour photos are really stunning.
If you think this sub is cramped, you should see the Soviet subs of the same era. There is one at the Maritime Museum in San Diego, but I don't know for how much longer. The hull seems about to rust through. You have excellent photos of this fine old boat.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenHey, interesting images, I really enjoyed this series !
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWe have been in a similar submarine in Zeebrugge. Nice.
