Moving mural

As a mural we see an endless parade of numerous figures who collectively form a kaleidoscopic picture of people on the move. Special for the movie museum EYE in amsterdam the south african artist William Kentridge made this 45m long frieze. These are people fleeing from hunger, war and sickness as one large animation, made by charcoal, drawings and large installations.
One for monday murals here.

  1. I like that it is backlit. Creates a nice effect. If you like you can link up with the "Through My Lens" meme again.

  6. I'm sure this is very moving in person. Black and white is fitting for this type of mural subject.

  7. Although seeing just a fraction of it, I think there are powerful pictures and messages.

  9. Nice one, but pretty sure it's not a B&W unless you did selective desaturation - I see colors!

  10. A grim subject that is well represented in this frieze. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
