Grumpy Face

I saw this cylinder head in a barn where fragments of crashed aircraft from WWII were shown. It was two cylinders of a Pegasus Bristol motor used in a fokker T-V850. For me it looked like it was just escaped from the set for Star Wars and didn't look happy. One for Our World Tuesday here.

  6. Very interesting how so many manufactured products can take on a human-like quality - seems to be our nature to seek patterns, recognize faces, and generally project ourselves onto/into the world around us.

  7. This looks like Star Wars to me too or a gargoyle. I can see how it would inspire an artist and architect’s imagination. :)

  10. This aircraft engine comes from a plane that looks similar to the American B-25. The condition of the head indicates this came from the crash of this plane. This was a sad period in history when so many people died. At first I thought this might be a motorcycle engine head, but no.
