When you walk out of the hotel to the housing apartments the first one you see is the Mountain Dwellings by BIG.
The 80 apartments are forming a hill with a hollow underside used for parking.
Every level has its own color.
On an ingenious way a mural of stacked cars is incorporated in the deposited concrete of the entrance referring to the stacked construction and to the neutral ecological construction by placing a deer on top. One for monday murals here
Wow! What an interesting approach to high density dwellings.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenDefinitely unique!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenReminds me of some apartments built in Montreal in the early '60s. Tom The Backroads Traveller
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThat was interesting. I like that mural theme too.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenCool mural. Thanks for the interpretation; otherwise I would have completely missed the reference to the architecture. I was thinking a more generic "Nature will always always triumph." The building looks like its being absorbed by the plants. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI was thinking nature will triumph as well! Might just be one of the coolest buildings I've ever seen.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIt really reminds me of Habitat 67 in Montreal - designed by Moshe Safdie for Expo 67, the World's Fair there. It looks wonderful and I love the mural.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenErg voor zich sprekende muurschildering. Mooi!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenSomeone has a good sense of humor. :-)
BeantwoordenVerwijderenTake 25 to Hollister
I really like how the apartment roofs are covered in plants...
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI can't imagine seeing something similar in this country. I've visited Copenhagen twice but never got out of the center. I wish I had the opportunity to see more.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenA very funny mural. And the colors make it easier to remember where you parked!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like Copenhagen very much, it's modern and old side. And not to forget danish people, that makes you always to feel good. Nice looks onto the town - I love the idea of "every level has own color" - you probabely guess why. Greetings from Gdynia, Poland
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI love those gardens on the roofs, looks lovely.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenAnd the mural in last photo is fantastic funny… :D
