City theater Almere

The city theater in Almere designed by Saana, a japanese architecture buro also known for their museum for contemporary art on the Bowery NY.
They are for the absolute minimum in using of color or materials.
I assume that the red table downstairs is not their idea.
And the only color you can find is this mural in the foyer from the japanese artist Micheal lin.
One for monday murals here.

  1. Love the interiors, but especially that first shot and the blue tones.

  2. Very nice find, SC! The big flower pots outside are pretty, as is the interior of the building. I particularly like the spiral staircase. It is good when you don't have to move stuff using the stairs :)

  3. Beautiful theater. Both, outside (I can see the reflections :) and inside.

  6. Love the staircase. Reminds me a lot of Gehry's work at the AGO in Toronto.

  10. Fascinating. This reminds me of batik fabric. I bet it was a BIG decision on who to commission for the only splash of color and texture. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
