You cannot visit Ireland without visiting a whiskey distillery.
These buildings were until the nineties the distilleries from Jameson Irish whiskey build in 1795 by the Murphy family in Midleton, Cork.
Of course there are a lot of showpieces.
Like these big barrels
or old trucks
But in the end it goes about one thing. How does it taste and you could get a real tasting diploma by tasting which whiskey is the best from different types. Unfortunately I was not one of those who could do this test. But I know now that Irish whiskey is distilled triple, Scots whisky double and American whisky just once.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI bet there was a distinct aroma about the place. I stopped at the Jack Daniels distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee only because I was nearby. Didn't take the tour or partake in the tour ending tasting for I don't don't drink. I found myself thinking "What am I doing here?" so I went back to the parking lot and had lunch.
