This fence on an amsterdam school building from around 1920 is in the so called amsterdam school style. A kind of late dutch art nouveau and recognizable on the flowing and movements in the details that keep us thinking on waves and movements in water. Often also to find in brickwork in the facade.
Another example of the wave movement in the amsterdam school style.
One for friday fences here.

Excellent photos S.C. The wave effect is certainly there and is a very remarkable piece of brick work.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenOo! Love the brick work.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFor sure it looks like a petrified wave, very different from any architecture I have seen here in my small town.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenIk vind deze bouwstijl erg mooi om te zien.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThe architect in you is coming out here. I do like that soft rounded flow of the brickwork in the second photo.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenwow, beautiful designs! thanks for sharing them!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenWhat an interesting thing to learn about...the wave movement in architecture and fencing. The design is so appealing to the eye.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenThis is a very appropriate style for Holland with all it's relationship to water.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful and ornate!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenBeautiful brickwork. Interesting to know the design inspiration.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenNice, almost subliminal suggestion of waves. I like it.
BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the repeating patterns of brickwork in the second shot. I would think this would be tricky to build!
BeantwoordenVerwijderenFascinating brickwork; delightful to see!
