Amsterdam school again

Another example of the water movement in the amsterdam school style here in a fence on the bridge  over the amstel canal called the Kramer bridge after its designer Pieter Kramer ( 1881-1961). He was one of the most well known architects of the amsterdam school. From 1911 until 1951 he was also employed by public works of the city of amsterdam and designed in that time more then 220 bridges for the city. (70 from them are in the so called amsterdam forest ).

Another example of the water movement in amsterdam school brickwork . Here a facade on the "vrijheidslaan" designed by Jouke Zietsma. The architects received
only an assignment for the facade . What was behind wasn't paid for.
I dedicated this post to skywatch friday here and friday fences here.

  12. «Louis» has had a long-time interest in architecture. (He considered studying it when he was at University, but didn't pursue it...) Thus, he is enjoying your series on the Water Movement.

The detailing on that fence is quite nice.

This would be a good post to link to Sunday Bridges when it opens at 22h00m central Europe time on Saturday.
