Yesterday evening I was invited by my favorite photoshop (Nivo-Schweitzer) for the introducing from Sony's new full frame camera's the α7 and α7r with all the lenses that where available. (For the really hungry persons coming from work they even had pizza slices with soft drinks in house).
There were plenty of camera's so everybody had a change to play with them.
First of all . They are small without losing your grip. Second they know all the tricks in the book what a digital camera have to know these days. Third with 24 or 36 mil. megapixels fullframe they are the cheapest around. (Well still expensive but in comparison with a Leica or a nikon D800e very cheap).
My interest was mostly to use older lenses on these camera's and that worked beautifully. As most visitors I had brought an old one with me. A canon r.f 85 1.8 lens from 1958 with a converter useable for leica m full frame. Of course it worked beautiful. Pity that it was not possible to put a card in them so these photo's are made with my normal sony for daily use. (nex 5r).
Trouble is you have also to buy quicker hardware and software again by increasing the megabytes you are now going to deliver and for an amateur the camera's of today are al so good that you will never get the extra quality out of it. Still a very tempting offer from Sony.
Wow... looks like a fun night. My first digital camera was a Sony Cybershot.

BeantwoordenVerwijderenI like the intense concentration in the third photo. My wife has to always have the newest and latest in technology. I get her hand-me-downs. If she upgrades her Nikon once again...I'll just keep what I have now. It works for me.
