Rådhushallen

In the city hall of Oslo you find some of the greatest murals of Europe to introduce aspects of living in Norway.

The big one is by Hendrik Sørensen called work, art and celebration made around 1950. This hall is also used for granting the Noble price for peace in December.
I dedicate this post to monday murals here.

  4. Nice ones. Amazing space, and great catch of the woman in blue.

  5. These murals look majestic and also function as historical documents of a way of life that is now gone. Reminds me of our WPA art done during the 30s and 40s. It would be a treat to see them in person in this impressive hall. So glad you included the wider shot so we could see the scale of the setting. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
