Museum in forest

Attracted by the nice weather we decided to go to the Kröller-Müller museum in the middle of the Veluwe. A great forest area in the netherlands. From the car parking to the museum is still 3.5 km but you can do that with free bicycles or pay 6 euro parking money extra but miss the views.

On the bike you have really nice views of the landscape.

Yes it is rather big and once an estate belonging to one family, the family Kröller-Müller . The art-collecting of this family was the start of the museum named after them.

Around the museum is a large sculpture garden which on its own is already good for a visit.
About the art inside I show you an other time or you can view biebkriebels blog.

  1. The first two photos seem so open and dry, unlike much of the Netherlands. Looking forward to seeing more.

  2. Is this the museum at Otterloo? I've been there years ago. I went there on the bus. Fortunately a fellow stopped while I was walking back to the bus and gave me a ride. It's quite a walk and I don't think there were bikes for rent back then.
