Taphophile tuesday

Not only people find a resting place on the cemetery here in Almere. The flowers give all of their beauty in a last attempt of pretty decay.

  1. Interesting. I never really thought about why we put flowers on graves and display flowers at funerals. I think this picture sums it up - Life is fleeting. A reminder to the living, really. Nice find, s.c.

  2. Yes, life is fleeting and life is fragile.

Amd that shovel proved a little fragile, too. I have seen flowers more wilted than these remain on graves for days and days and days. These must have been from a mourner who is in frequent attendance.

    Good, and unusual, contribution ...

i like the white flowers, you can actually keep them very long, when they are dried out they stay more or less the same...
