Royal Gallery in Belgium

On request of king Leopold II of Belgium this gallery was build between 1902 and 1906 on the beach of Oostende. It was part of a plan for a big palace project but the palace never came. Some other buildings are there like the Wellington racing track and the royal chalet but this in total 380 m long archway is the most eye catching part.

  3. 380 m !?! That's very long. Certainly eye catching, especially with the shadows casting their extra lines.

  4. Beautiful tiling accentuated by the shadows running at an angle across them. This walkway looks like it goes on forever...so long. Nice benches and lovely door, too. Such an interesting shot. genie

  5. Besides the grandeur of the columns, I really like the shadows they make and the patterns of the tiles on the ground. The kid on the bike is a nice touch, too.
